Why was this site created?
After the occurrence of a few of the most highly stress-inducing events in my life within a 2 year time period, it was evident that I had to figure out a way to get through the supposed difficulties. My goal was determined by asking the question "How do I get to the other side of this confusion and negativity intact?"
Investigating the answer to that question placed me on a unique and fulfilling journey that I have documented in a book called "INNER PEACE - A SIMPLE PATH" which resulted in the development of this website.
As I traversed the wilderness of negativity and turmoil, the idea to record what I was doing to mitigate that seemed useful. But then, after some time, it changed to a desire to provide assistance to anyone who could use a helping hand.
During my travels, I encountered some profound realizations:
- Stuff happens to people in life regardless of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, wealth status, etc.
- As humans, in general, you all have the capability AND responsibility to attend to your personal well-being regardless of the events occurring externally - It is a mind thing.
- There are ample resources around to help every individual pull through. Just make sure you open your eyes to see them.
- The rewards (if you want to call it something) cannot be planned and patience MUST be exercised.
- If there is no reward, that situation MUST also be accepted
Some of the realizations were hard at first for me to accept, but I can assure you that as you learn, you also grow...and that is a rewarding effort.
Make Life Simple
In my journey, I have also come to a realization of simplicity. The simpler I keep things, the better it is. For this reason, my goal here is to impart knowledge or assistance that can be used to improve life. If this happens to just ONE PERSON, I would have attained my goal.
“There is a famous story told about a man walking along a deserted beach at sunset. As he walked he could see a young boy in the distance, as he drew nearer he noticed that the boy kept bending down, picking something up and throwing it into the water.
Time and again he kept hurling things into the ocean.
As the man approached even closer, he was able to see that the boy was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach and, one at a time he was throwing them back into the water.
The man asked the boy what he was doing, the boy replied, "I am throwing these washed up starfish back into the ocean, or else they will die through lack of oxygen. "But", said the man, "You can't possibly save them all, there are thousands on this beach, and this must be happening on hundreds of beaches along the coast. You can't possibly make a difference."
The boy looked down, frowning for a moment; then bent down to pick up another starfish, smiling as he threw it back into the sea, he replied, "I made a difference to that one!"
